But how did it get here? To answer this question, we must go back to its beginnings and get to know the brand in depth, a story of inspiration and passion.
The History of the House
Origin of the Spanish Brand
It can be said that the story of the house began in a leather goods workshop, located on Lobo Street (now Echegaray Street) in Madrid in 1872, with the arrival of the German craftsman who would give the house its name and had a great ambition to create his own fashion brand.
20 years later, the brand was born with its first store located in the capital of Spain, on Príncipe Street in Madrid. And 13 years later, thanks to its immense popularity among luxury enthusiasts, it became the Supplier to the Royal Householdby order of Alfonso XIII.
The Expansion of the House
After receiving the title of official supplierto the Royal Householdand handing over the reins of the company to the founder's grandson, the house began to grow rapidly and achieve great renown in Spain.
Furthermore, the new designs launched in 1945 by José Pérez de Rozas, the newcreative director, helped the fashion house gain much more international fame.
From 1963 onwards, the brand's stores began opening in countries such as England. Likewise, the foray into women's ready-to-wear fashion and the design of its iconic logo by Vicente Vela helped to reinforce the brand's prestige. Modern Times During the 1980s, the house was acquired by the Rumasa Group and later became part of the Urvois Spinola Group. In 1988, a year after its famous perfume Esencia (divain-012) was launched, a member of the founding family created the house's foundation, which annually awards an international poetry prize. During its 150th anniversary celebration in 1996, the house announced its sale to the LVMH group. Later in 1997, a renowned American designer created his women's prêt-à-porter line for the firm.

The Style of the House
If there is one thing that has distinguished this house, it is its ability to break with stereotypes. This brand, born in Spain over a century ago, has become an important part of many cultural and social movements. One example is the famous Amazona bag, created in 1975 by Darío Rossi and inspired by the wars of Greek mythology, a symbol of female empowerment that marked a turning point in the house's history. Furthermore, this brand has been endorsed by prominent figures such as Ava Gardner.an icon of the 20th century. Such was her influence that the handbag this actress bought at one of the brand's stores became one of its most sought-after products.
Today, the house, under the direction of Jonathan Anderson, has decided to create a much more classic, coherent product line, true to its values.
The House's Perfumes
In addition to clothing and accessories, the brand also has its own line of perfumes fragrances for men and women that leave a lasting impression on the skin.
