Denim fabric is very versatile, and when you recycle your old jeans, you can create a lot of things: cushions, rugs, bags, bracelets, etc… Discover the ideas we have for you and get inspired! Creativity knows no bounds!
This idea is perfect if your old jeans are wide-legged. To do this, you must cut off the bottom of one of the legs of the pants. Sew or glue one of the sides to form the base of the toiletry bag or case.
For a more original and colorful touch, it's best to add several patches and decorative strips to cover the seams or any tears or holes.
Finally, if you don't want things to fall out or if you're going to use it for travel, it's best to add a zipper or button to the top so it can be opened and closed as needed. And that's it! You'll have your own country-style pencil case or toiletry bag to take everywhere, made from recycled jeans.
Cushion
If you want to give your living room sofa a different touch, you can transform your jeans into some very original cushions. If you want an elongated cushion, stuff the filling of your choice inside one leg, which you will have previously cut. Then close both ends with a zipper or a needle and thread.
If you prefer a square cushion, cut several pieces of fabric from your pants and sew them together. You can combine these fabrics with other fabrics in different colors and prints to give them a more original touch.
If your jeans have at least four pockets or you want to recycle more than one pair of old jeans, you can get creative and make an organizer to store anything you want: makeup, work materials, the remote control of the TV, etc… The first thing you should do is cut off all the pockets from your jeans. Then take some fabric, either from the jeans you want to reuse, or any other fabric with a nice design, and simply sew the pockets onto the fabric.

Organizer
Oh! And you can also use one of the pockets to sew onto that unique cushion you made with the remaining fabric.
You'll design the best place to store your remote control and never lose sight of it. Pen Holder This is one of the easiest crafts. Simply take an empty tin can and measure its height. Next, cut a piece of fabric from the pant leg to fit that size and insert the can inside the cut fabric. Add some beads and stickers to make it more fun and glue a decorative fabric on top so the cut isn't visible. Decorative Rug Add a unique touch to your home with a rug made from your old jeans. Ideally, you should have several pairs of jeans in different shades that you want to recycle. First, cut several rectangular pieces from the different pairs of pants (we recommend they all have the same measurements) and join them together until the rug is the size you want. Creativity knows no bounds, so you can play around with combining colors and other fabrics to give it a much more personalized and authentic touch. Shopping Bag Create a shopping bag from those jeans you no longer wear. This is the best alternative to plastic bags, made with recycled materials. You can make it in a thousand ways, but if you want something easy, cut the bottom of each leg from the knee, then join both pieces and sew the bottom. To create the bag handles, cut off the top of the pants, right where the belt goes. Cut the strip in two and sew the two handles to each side of the bag. Add some decorations or stickers and you'll have your best ally for grocery shopping.Check out this article to make more crafts with recycled plastic.Take care of the environment!
Bracelet
Finally, another idea we suggest for recycling clothes you no longer use is to make a bracelet. Cut three or two strips of fabric from your old jeans and braid them. Glue or knot the beginning and end to keep the braid from unraveling. Finally, add a clasp to close it, or simply tie the two ends together once you've put it on your wrist. As you can see, recycling your jeans is incredibly easy. If you enjoy crafts, try out some of these ideas and let your imagination run wild!
