How to care for your beard in summer

Summer is the season that puts your beard to the ultimate test.

The combination of intense sun, salt water, pool chlorine, and constant heat is incredibly harsh on facial hair and the skin beneath it. Yet, it’s often the time of year we pay it the least attention.

It’s a mistake with visible consequences: a dry, brittle beard, split ends, itching, irritated skin, and an overall unkempt look that has nothing to do with how much hair you have.

What summer does to your beard

UV rays dry out and oxidise the hair. Salt and chlorine strip away the natural oils that keep your beard hydrated and soft. The heat opens the hair cuticle, making it more porous and vulnerable.

The result is a beard that loses its shine, feels rough to the touch, and becomes difficult to style—looking messy because of poor health rather than length.

The summer beard routine

You don't need a complicated routine. But you do need one.

Specific cleansing

Hand soap or shower gel are not your beard's friends. They strip away too much natural sebum, leaving hair dry and skin irritated. A dedicated beard shampoo—or at the very least a mild sulphate-free shampoo—cleanses without being aggressive, maintaining your skin’s natural balance.

In summer, washing your beard after every swim in the sea or pool is essential. Salt and chlorine shouldn't be left to sit on facial hair for hours.

Hydration: the game-changer

After showering, apply a few drops of Beard Control Serum to a slightly damp beard. Its lightweight formula with Vitamin E, Argan Oil, and Cedar Extract conditions the hair, softens it, and helps restore the shine lost to sun, chlorine, and salt.

It nourishes even the most rebellious beards without feeling greasy, making styling easier and keeping hair disciplined all day long.

The summer trim

Summer is also the time to consider if your winter beard is right for the heatwave.

A shorter beard is easier to maintain, more comfortable in high temperatures, and looks fresher. You don't have to go clean-shaven—but a trim that adapts your length to the season can make the difference between looking sharp and looking scruffy.

A cared-for beard stands out

Neglect shows more in summer than at any other time of year.

A well-groomed beard—hydrated, shaped, and clean—doesn't require a huge effort. It just requires consistency.

Ten minutes a day, the right products, and the summer beard you deserve.
